Adani among bidders for SVP Nagar Andheri redevelopment
Adani Properties submitted a technical bid for the SVP Nagar redevelopment project in Andheri West, competing against Reliance 4IR Realty and Hanura Realty. MHADA issued tenders on April 8, 2026, for three cluster redevelopment projects, with the deadline for bid submission on May 18, 2026.
The broader MHADA tender process
The three projects collectively covered 206.49 acres: SVP Nagar in Andheri West (73.89 acres), Bandra Reclamation in Bandra (98.27 acres), and Adarsh Nagar in Worli (34.33 acres). Following technical evaluation, financial bids were opened on May 27, 2026.
Outcome of the bidding process
The SVP Nagar project was won by a consortium led by JSW Steel, comprising Hanura Realty, Chandak Realtors, Premsagar Infra Realty and Vantier Realty. Adani Properties emerged as the highest bidder for the Adarsh Nagar and Bandra Reclamation projects.
Scale of the redevelopment
The SVP Nagar project covers 498 plots and approximately 4,973 residential units, benefiting thousands of families living in aging structures. The redevelopment offers residents larger, modern apartments with township-style facilities including green spaces, schools, healthcare centres, commercial zones, playgrounds, gyms, swimming pools and auditoriums, alongside upgraded infrastructure for water supply, sewage and electricity.
Adani's broader redevelopment footprint
Since 2010, Adani Realty has expanded across major Indian markets using a two-pronged strategy: acquiring distressed construction companies at bargain prices and aggressively bidding on government redevelopment projects. The firm has secured the Dharavi redevelopment project, one of the most ambitious prizes in Indian real estate, transforming one of the world's largest slums into a modern township. Adani emerged as the successful bidder for the 143-acre Motilal Nagar redevelopment project in Goregaon, with an expected investment of up to Rs 1 lakh crore for both rehabilitation and free-sale segments.
Approvals and next steps
The winning bids are subject to approval by a high-powered committee constituted for these projects, after which they will be submitted to the state government for final clearance.
